Local Co-op

Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 support two-player local split-screen co-op in Go-Go Town! 1.0. Each player needs a controller (Joy-Con pair or Pro Controller). Split-screen divides the TV or handheld view vertically or horizontally depending on settings — ideal for couch co-op mayhem described in Prideful Sloth marketing and the official couch co-op trailers from Early Access updates.

Starting split-screen

Connect second controller before loading save. From main menu or pause, enable second player / local co-op. Player 2 joins as Vice-Mayor on shared screen.

Handheld mode works but screen is cramped for build mode — docked TV recommended for zoning sessions.

Controller setups

Two Joy-Con pairs (player 1 and 2). Pro Controller for player 1 + Joy-Con for player 2 is common for build-heavy Mayor.

See controls/controller for button layout on Switch.

Split-screen layout tips

Stay near each other when sharing courier fixes — off-screen partner cannot see your ping markers on their half.

Divide districts by screen side: left player handles farms, right player handles commercial core reduces travel confusion.

Switch 2 enhancements

Switch 2 version targets smoother FPS in large towns — helpful when both players decorate dense districts simultaneously.
