Controller
Go-Go Town! supports standard gamepads on PC and native controllers on Nintendo Switch. Layout follows Xbox-style face buttons for interact and confirm, with shoulders for modifiers and bumpers for tool cycling. Switch split-screen co-op assigns one controller per player — critical for couch sessions documented in co-op/local-co-op.
Core bindings (Xbox layout)
Left stick moves; right stick rotates camera. A (X on PlayStation) confirms interact and dialogue. B (Circle) cancels build placement or backs out of menus.
Y (Triangle) often opens phone or quest log — verify in-game; patches align this with TAB on PC. X (Square) may trigger emotes or context tools.
| Action | Xbox | PlayStation |
|---|---|---|
| Interact / confirm | A | Cross |
| Cancel | B | Circle |
| Phone / quests | Y | Triangle |
| Sprint | Left stick click | |
| Build mode | Menu / D-pad up |
Build and zoning
Build mode uses cursor movement on right stick with confirm/cancel on face buttons. Rotating pieces uses bumpers or D-pad.
Resource zone painting is slower than mouse but viable on Switch handheld — zoom camera for precision.
Co-op emotes and ping
Emote wheel on D-pad or dedicated button helps coordinate without voice chat. Ping marks empty shelves or trash for partners in split-screen.
Four-player PC sessions with controllers work alongside KB+M Mayor — mixed input is supported.
Switch-specific notes
Joy-Con horizontal grip works for two-player split-screen; Pro Controller recommended for build-heavy sessions.
See controls/steam-deck for portable PC; see co-op/local-co-op for split-screen layout on TV.
