Patch 1.0.25859 Hotfix

Two days after the July 16, 2026 version 1.0 launch, Prideful Sloth shipped build 1.0.25859 as a stability hotfix on PC and console branches. Community reports and press roundups highlight two fixes: Steam achievements now register for co-op clients (not just the host Mayor), and a rare crash that could corrupt save files on exit was closed. No new features — install this before achievement hunting in four-player sessions or after Switch sleep-resume quirks.

Go-Go Town! patch 1.0.25859 co-op achievement hotfix

What changed

Multiplayer achievement unlock: Vice-Mayors and remote clients who complete criteria (rock-paper-scissors emotes, co-op milestones, etc.) should see Steam or platform achievements pop on their profile after patching. Host-only credit was a launch-week regression fixed here.

Save stability: a rare corruption path on crash or abrupt quit was patched. Still back up saves before major terraforming — co-op/permissions and manual saves remain best practice.

  • Update before co-op achievement runs
  • Backup saves via Steam Cloud or Switch export
  • Feature content unchanged from 1.0.25831 — see updates/patch-1-0-25831

Co-op achievement tips

Split-screen on Switch or PC with two controllers lets one mayor emote rock-paper-scissors solo for certain trophies — developer staff confirmed on Steam discussions. Online four-player still requires each player on the updated build.

See co-op/online-setup and co-op/local-co-op for session setup; achievements bind per platform account, not per Town Profile.

If problems persist

Missing Townies or flickering tourists after co-op menus may be sync bugs rather than corruption — save, fully quit, reload. Character disappearance guides recommend organized zones and avoiding customization menus during train events.

EA towns remain on ggt_legacy — this hotfix applies to 1.0 branch saves only — updates/legacy-saves.

Patch order for new mayors

Install 1.0 base → allow Steam or eShop to grab 1.0.25831 content → apply 1.0.25859 hotfix automatically when updates enabled. Wiki feature pages assume 25831+25859 unless noted.
